In order to meet the diverse requirements of our portfolio of commercial property clients, Morrisons Commercial Property Department has been restructured in 2008 into two new teams, Commercial Real Estate, and Residential Development.
The Residential Development Team is headed by Maria Bairstow, Partner, assisted by three other solicitors (Claire Villaneuva, Katherine Everard and Marina Waller) together with Gulliver Martin (trainee solicitor). The team will remain based at our Redhill Office and continue to serve Morrisons developer clients with all matters associated with residential development including site assembly, option and condtional sale agreements, planning agreements, removal of restrictive covenants and plot sales. The team is a recognised ‘player’ in the residential development sphere, particularly in the South East.
The Commercial Real Estate Team is headed up by partner, Robert Satiro based in our Wimbledon office. Robert is assisted by a team of four: Chris Webb (senior associate solicitor) Nirav Patel (a trainee solicitor who will be qualifying into the department in September this year) who are both based in the Redhill office and Hannah White and Tom Penlington (assistant solicitors) based in the Woking office.
Robert Satiro says “I am very pleased to be heading up our Commercial Real Estate team who are not only enthusiastic but committed to the work undertaken in the department. The enactment and implementation of a whole raft of legislation in the commercial property sphere in the last four and half years has created a particular need for good quality commercially focussed legal advice when dealing with Landlord and Tenant and property investment transactions. With the current credit squeeze lenders are also looking very carefully at the quality of tenant’s covenants in leases and the team is regularly instructed to advise lenders and investors on these issues, which is testimony to the quality of Morrisons expertise in this area.”
